Marlene Roberts

In 1972, Marlene relocated to the Outer Banks from Pittsburgh, because she wanted to raise her three children in a small town environment. She took up residence in Manteo on historic Roanoke Island, which in those days was truly "Mayberry".

For the next twelve years Marlene was employed at two major beach hotels, Ramada Inn and Holiday Inn, as Manager of Group Sales and Marketing. Much of Marlene's personal time was devoted to her work as Treasurer of Peoples to Preserve Jockey's Ridge, a non-profit group that managed to convince the State of North Carolina to make the huge sand dunes a state park. Marlene established a reputation, during this period for "getting things done in a nice way."

In 1983 Marlene obtained her NC Brokers License, and she quickly achieved success in the commercial area of real estate, with several major commercial listings and sales. Marlene has been a member of the Million Dollar Club since 1987,and she has also obtained the designation of CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) by documenting EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS in residential sales, houses only, and taking the prescribed CRS courses to qualify.

During the last twenty two years Marlene has passed the FIFTY MILLION DOLLAR mark in residential sales.

Marlene is assisted by all three of her children, the older son, Greg, is a licensed broker and her daughter Leslie, is the licensed administrative assistant. And her younger son, David, is a painting contractor.
